GLEN

As a mostly instrumental band with classic line up of two guitars, bass and drums, GLEN deconstructs popular and classical music genres scratching them together with experimental expression and attitude. GLEN revises the supposedly light atmosphere of melodic fragments to a complex epic multilayered hypnotic structure of free improvisation and repetitive themes, breaking loose either to dionysian chaos or escaping to poetic cinematic soundscapes. Adding layer by layer, GLEN creates a synthesis of contrasting textures with different references to No Wave NY, Free Improv, Noise, Drone, Postrock as well as Cinematic Scores merging to a unique sound of colourful narratives and surprising mosaics of rhythmic

dissonant chords, melodic patterns and abstract noise.

While GLEN´s previous album CRACK “switched in and out of different moods with a sense of widescreen dynamics and penchant for extended narratives that were shaped by their cinematic endeavours”, their new album PULL! is even more consistent in their wandering through the glens of nearly unmarketable instrumental elegies rejecting despite their haunting melodies any assignment to traditional rock aesthetics, similar to the uncompromising deconstructing energy of the avant-rock movement citing “there are no waves, only the ocean”.

WILLIAM BRAVO DUO

Spanish guitarist ANTONIO BRAVO and German film composer and guitarist WILHELM STEGMEIER deconstruct complex wavering noises to hallucinating hypnotic feedbacks that explode into improvised action paintings of colorful contemporary psychedelic soundscapes. Melodic abstract sculptures clash with repetitive rhythmic lines.Sustained, eclipsed and fluent blurred drone clusters, dense collages of various sounds with no pulse, expand in all directions, to merge surprisingly in

explosive vertical and horizontal eruptions or fragile sensual microtonal fragments.

Two musical personalities explore the sound map of their diverse musical origins, clashing their influences from the free jazz improvised music scene with the deconstructive energy of the avant-garde progressive movement performing as an electrified experimental post free noise jazz guitar duo based in Berlin and Santiago de Compostela.
